Bar Description
If youโre a fan of the farm-to-table movement but crave the high-energy vibe of a modern neighborhood pub, The Farm and Fisherman Tavern + Market in Cherry Hill is your ultimate South Jersey destination. This isn’t just a restaurant; itโs a culinary collaboration that brings the soul of the city to the suburbs. Founded by Chef Josh Lawlerโa James Beard semifinalistโand his wife Colleen, in partnership with Chef Todd Fuller, the tavern opened its doors in November 2013. It serves as the expansive, liquor-licensed sequel to their critically acclaimed (and famously tiny) Philadelphia BYOB.
Features & Ambiance
A Masterclass in Seasonal Dining: The heart of the experience is a deep commitment to regional, sustainable produce and proteins. The menu is a living document, changing with the seasons to showcase the best of local farms. Enthusiasts rave about signature dishes like the Bloody Beet Salad (a clever riff on a steak tartare) and the Industrial Burger, featuring dry-aged brisket. Even the snacks are elevated; don’t miss the 24-hour Onion Dip or the silky Chickpea Fries with romesco.
The Tavern & Market Experience: The space itself is “city hip meets suburban casual,” featuring industrial lighting, walnut tables, and a striking horseshoe-shaped antique hickory bar. It strikes a rare balance: itโs sophisticated enough for a romantic cocktail-centric date night, yet welcoming enough for a weekend family brunch. True to its name, the venue includes a marketplace where you can find curated local products, cheeses, and house-made goods to take home.
Drink Culture: For the beverage enthusiast, the bar program is top-tier. Youโll find an impressive rotation of over 80 beers (with a strong focus on local craft drafts), an all-American curated wine list, and a cocktail menu that pushes boundaries with house-made amari and barrel-aged spirits. Whether youโre stopping in for a “Clarified House Milk Punch” or a flight of New Jerseyโs finest brews, the expertise behind the bar is undeniable

1 Review on “The Farm And Fisherman Tavern + Market”
Nice atmosphere, good food. Called to make a reservation on a Friday at 6:45 and was able to make one for 8:45pm. Got there early and plenty of seats were available. Food is all “locally sourced” so menu may say things like “seasonal veggies” and you might get something different than the last time you ordered. (This happened during this recent visit). Not a big deal, but may surprise the unexpecting. Service is exceptional and kitchen was lightning quick with the food order.
A great option, but would not be my personal go-to.
