Bar Description
If you are looking for a spot in Atlantic City that balances the grit of a classic neighborhood haunt with the cleanliness of a modern renovation, King’s Pub is the place. Located on South Tennessee Avenue in the heart of the emerging “Orange Loop,” this venue sits on the legendary site of the former Pic-A-Lilli Pub. When the Pic closed its doors in 2022 after 30 years, there was a void in the local “dive” scene. Owners Dimitris Ostrovskis and Michael Ghabryal stepped in, buying the building in 2023 and performing a top-to-bottom renovation that fixed the infamous issues of the past (yes, the bathrooms actually have toilet seats now).
Walking in, you’ll find a space that is refreshingly clean but maintains that essential “dark bar” soul. It feels like a genuine local retreat just steps away from the chaotic neon of the Boardwalk. It is a “no-frills” experience, but it’s done with pride.
The Experience
Let’s be real: people come here for the wings and the vibes. King’s Pub kept the legendary Pic-A-Lilli wing tradition alive but added its own flair with the Apple Bourbon Wings, which are a must-try. The menu is straightforward—think fresh-pressed King’s Burgers topped with brisket, crispy fried shrimp, and a Beef Cheesesteak Sub that locals swear by.
Patrons will experience a friendly, attentive bar staff. It is a sports-heavy environment with numerous high-definition TVs usually tuned to the NFL or local games. It’s the kind of place where you can walk in alone on a Tuesday and leave with three new friends. It isn’t trying to be a fancy casino lounge; it is trying to be your favorite neighborhood bar, and in the Orange Loop, it’s succeeding.
