Empire Sports Bar & Grill opened its doors on April 18, 2022, after a significant refresh of the property. The owner, Derviş Aktürk, also known for the successful Empire Diner nearby, sought to create a unique, two-story establishment that honored the building’s legacy while modernizing its offerings. The location itself is steeped in local history, having previously operated for many years as the well-loved Clancy’s Pub, and generations before that, as Wayne’s Log Cabin and J’Antonio’s restaurant. The current exterior sports a bold, patriotic blue paint job, reflecting the owner’s American pride and giving the establishment unmistakable curb appeal on Route 130.
