Bar Description
If youโre looking for a “hidden gem” that combines the high-end culinary expertise of a premier wedding venue with the cozy, relaxed vibe of a neighborhood tavern, Robert’s Bar & Grill is a must-visit. Tucked away on the left side of the stunning Paris Caterers building on Cross Keys Road, this spot is the public-facing side of a legendary South Jersey catering brand.
The history here is rooted in three decades of hospitality excellence. Paris Caterers was established in 1990 and later purchased by brothers Robert and Keith Eshelman. While they spent years perfecting storybook weddings in their grand ballrooms, they decided in late 2020 to open their private lounge area to the public. Robert Eshelman, a Master Chef and graduate of the Atlantic County Community College of Culinary Arts, brings his specialized training in gourmet and international cuisine to the bar menu, ensuring that even a simple burger here is handled with “chef-driven” precision.
Features & Highlights
The atmosphere at Robert’s is intentionally cozy and intimate, offering a welcome contrast to the massive banquet halls next door. The room features a warm fireplace, comfortable seating for small groups, and a polished bar that seats about a dozen. Itโs the kind of place where you can actually have a conversation while enjoying a high-quality meal.
The menu is a clever hybrid of elevated pub grub and catering classics. Youโll find the staplesโNachos, Wings, and Cheesesteaksโbut the real stars are the dishes that reflect their catering roots: Mussels Diablo, Eggplant Towers, Crispy Calamari, and their signature Crab Cakes. Because it is run by a professional catering team, the ingredients are consistently top-tier. For entertainment, they frequently host Live Music on weekends and offer seasonal “Valentine’s” or holiday-specific dinner specials that take full advantage of Chef Robertโs culinary range.
