Bar Description
A New Chapter for an Avalon Icon
For decades, the Whitebrier has been the beating heart of Avalon’s dining and nightlife, a place where sun-drenched afternoons on the patio seamlessly transitioned into high-energy evenings. As of early 2025, this legendary Seven Mile Island institution has entered its most prestigious era yet, joining the esteemed portfolio of the Union League of Philadelphia. While it carries a new name and a refined touch, the Whitebrier remains an essential destination for those who appreciate the best of the Jersey Shore.
A Legacy Reimagined
The history of this location is deeply intertwined with Avalon’s roots, originally opening over 110 years ago as the Avalon Yachting and Motor Club. Since 2002, the Whitebrier has operated as a multi-venue powerhouse. Now, under the stewardship of the Union League—a 163-year-old institution founded during the Civil War—the property has undergone thoughtful enhancements to preserve its coastal charm while introducing the world-class hospitality the League is famous for.
