Pine Hill Tavern

The history of the PHT is a true South Jersey success story. It was founded in October 1976 by best friends Jay Rudderow and Harry, who transformed a space that had been a tavern since at least the 1950s into a community cornerstone. For nearly 50 years, the Rudderow family has steered the ship, recently completing a total interior remodel in 2022 that traded the dark, wood-paneled “time capsule” look for a bright, inviting, and open atmosphere. Currently, the tavern is undergoing another major expansion—adding over 2,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor dining space with windowed garage doors—set to debut in mid-Spring 2026 for their 50th anniversary.

The PHT is arguably most famous for its Jumbo Wings, which consistently rank as top contenders in “Best of South Jersey” lists. Whether you get them Hot, Mild, or tossed in their signature PHT sauce, they are a mandatory order.
