Taking its whimsical name from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, The Mad Batter quickly garnered national acclaim—most notably after a glowing review from The Philadelphia Inquirer‘s Jim Quinn—and paved the way for Cape May’s fine dining reputation.

While the Kulkowitz family established its culinary roots, the bar scene evolved dramatically.
