Bar Description
If you are looking for a spot that perfectly balances a “Restaurant-First” mentality with a vibrant bar scene, La Cantina Restaurant Bar & Grill in Blackwood is a must-visit. Taking over the space formerly known as Amandaโs Bar None on Lower Landing Road, owners Melissa and Ariel have completely transformed the interior into a rustic, welcoming destination for authentic Latin and Mexican cuisine. While the outside might look familiar to long-time locals, the inside has been flippedโmoving the bar to open up the room for a massive increase in dining space.
If you want a fresh, high-energy Latin experience to in Gloucester Township, I highly suggest you check out La Cantina. It is a place built for good times, where the commitment to real ingredients and bold flavors is evident in every dish that leaves the kitchen.ย The food is outstanding and the cocktails are amazing!
Features & Highlights
The heartbeat of La Cantina is its dedication to scratch-made cooking. You won’t find frozen fillers here; the kitchen preps everything from their creamy queso and house-made guacamole to every single salsa in-house. Enthusiasts rave about the Tacos a la Cantina and the Churrasco, but the real surprise is the depth of the menu, which features Caribbean-inspired soups, ceviche de camarones, and even specialized seafood dishes like langosta rellena.
For the bar crowd, the Specialty Margaritas are the undisputed draw. Whether you are looking for a classic lime or something more adventurous, they are widely considered worth the drive across town. The bar itself has been moved to a beautiful rustic backdrop on the left wall, offering a full liquor license stocked with top-tier tequilas, whiskeys, and ice-cold beers. With Happy Hour specials Tuesday through Friday (4pm-7pm) and a reputation for being the go-to spot for “Taco Tuesdays,” itโs a high-energy environment that works just as well for a quick lunch as it does for a late-night celebration.

This is my go-to place for Latin cuisine.
The atmosphere is generally pretty loud. At times it’s overwhelming.
I’m by no means an expert on this genre of food, but La Cantina makes me want to come back for more. The service has always been good, and their digital menus are nice because in most cases you can see pictures of the food just in case you want to try something new.
They have some solid drink options, but you really need to stick with the margaritas to get the full effect. The light up ice cubes are admittedly pretty cool.
The craft beer selection doesn’t exist.
Overall, I like this place. I’d suggest going during happy hour, because the times I went later in the evening, I thought it was a little expensive.
Great little hidden gem when you are in the mood for Mexican food and Margaritas.
