C View Inn: Cape May’s Beloved Historic Tavern
If you’re looking to escape the hustle of the boardwalk for a genuine, no-fuss experience, pull up a stool at the C View Inn. This iconic tavern has rightfully earned its moniker as the place “where the locals go.” With a famously friendly, “Cheers-like” atmosphere and classic Irish pub-style decor, the C View Inn welcomes everyone from long-time regulars and Coast Guard folks to vacationing families. It is the definition of a comfortable, cozy neighborhood gem.
History
The C View Inn proudly holds the title of the oldest tavern in continuous operation in Cape May. Its roots trace back to the late 1800s when it first opened as the Harbor House. It was officially renamed the C View Inn in 1917 and has been serving generations of patrons ever since. Current owner Gregg Coffey, a longtime regular himself, took the reins in 2007 and has maintained the bar’s consistent quality and unbeatable atmosphere.
