The history of the building is staggering, dating all the way back to 1885 when it first opened as a hotel called the Philadelphia House. The OD is essentially two experiences in one. Inside, you’ll find a classic, high-volume tavern that transforms into a premier Nightclub with a massive dance floor, stage, and state-of-the-art light show. For over 30 years, the band Secret Service has been a centerpiece here, alongside other regional heavy hitters like Go Go Gadjet and the always-popular Dueling Pianos.

Step outside and you’re at The Sandbar & Grill, the venue’s casual outdoor bar and restaurant. It’s the perfect spot to catch a breeze and a bite. The menu is far beyond your average pub fare. Enthusiasts rave about the OD Special Hot Roast Beef (topped with caramelized onions, hot cherry peppers, and provolone), as well as the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and fresh Fish Tacos. Open daily from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. They also host special “Off-Season” events for New Year’s Eve, the Sea Isle President’s Day Weekend (Polar Bear Plunge), and select spring weekends.
